I will be out of the office until 6-20-2005.

Please email <email address removed> or call Donna Albarado @337-988-4930
with any emergencies or issues that cannot wait until my return.

Thanks

I am looking for something on the Mac that allows me to store default
settings for an application (in a fashion analogous to using ini files
or
the registry on the PC). It seems like the best approach involves using
the
already-created plist for the app. I am aware of the CFPlugin from this

link (still working with it but no documentation so it is slow going):

http://www.tildesoft.com/Plugins.html

Anyone have a good example showing how to work with plists (or use some
other method to save default settings) within RB?

There's a reusable, cross-platform preference module in my UTool
template:

http://ljensen.com/utool

It uses plain text files (i.e. not plists or the Windows Registry). I
like
them because they're easier to read and edit manually during debugging.

That looks like just what I needed; I'll test it out. Reading/writing
settings to a text file stored in the app folder is somewhat of a pain
(but
it does work).

Thanks for the prompt response.
