Jeff and I need some people to check out the Windows build of our
Zombies game. We'd like to get the official release posted before
this weekend, so people can enjoy it for Halloween, so quick feedback
on any problems will be greatly appreciated. Download it here:

Zombies is free and open-source.

Many Thanks,
- Joe

BTW, please let me know (off-list) if you get decent performance or
not, and what your machine specs are (including version of Windows
and whether you believe your OpenGL drivers are up to date). We want
to get a feel for what the minimum machine specs are, and which
versions of Windows are likely to have problems with it, so we can at
least put this in the Read Me.

Thanks,
- Joe

I'm kinda slow - how do you select a guy? I can pan the screen and click on
a fellow but he doesn't seem selected (the square doesn't light up as the
instructions indicate). Also the instructions seem to indicate that we
should use the "windows flag" button in a combination. That simply opens up
the start menu.

Cool graphics though!

You can only command those people who are Aware (those which have kind
of a fighting stance, not those whose hands are simply down at their
sides or perhaps up in the air). There's only one of those in the
beginning, so it's up to you to move that one guy around to help make
others Aware.

The Windows flag button is a special key. If you have an Aware selected
and hold down the windows button and click on another person, be it
human or zombie, it will Order that Aware to perform a
context-sensitive action automatically (Windows-click again on that
Aware to cancel an Order). If you hold down the Windows button and then
press an arrow key, you'll command every Aware to move forward (based
on their current facing) by their maximum movement points.

Hmm. Or at least that's how the Windows key is supposed to be used. It
appears that you're right -- the Windows key will simply open up the
start menu. That's a good catch that needs looking into.

That's normal Windows behavior. Instead, use the Control key. (And
actually, you can use the Control key on the Mac as well if you wish.)

Best,

I had memory usage up to 328 and was waiting for it to start again (this was
after a "abandon all hope" scenario. The restart took longer than my
patience would handle thus the 3 finger slam.

Unfortunately, we can't, since it relies on declares to Quesa for a
few things, and Quesa declares don't work on Linux.
