KeyDown event
Date: 07.05.02 01:47 (Mon, 06 May 2002 17:47:20 -0700)
From: Jann Linder
I have a listbox inside a window (of course). I have a key down event
defined for the listbox. Another keydown event is defined for the window.
Both events check for the chr(13) or chr(3) key being depressed and actually
perform different functions.

If I am in the listbox and press return, BOTH the listbox keydown AND the
window keydown fire. I just want the listbox keydown to fire. (while the
inheritance of the keydown to the window is nice--and expected, it doesn't
work for my app.). How can I stop the keydown going to the window when I am
in the listbox? This may be an easy question, but I am a RB newbie.

Thx!

Jann

Thanks a lot Aaron!

Were it a dog, it would've bit me. Next time I will read the language
reference more carefully prior to posting.

Aaron

It would be nice if the same thing held true for editfields. However
in that case the window gets the keydown even before the editfield
and so returning true from the editfield doesn't help. Bug # 81728
