OSX Icons

I've created a complete set of icons 128,48,32,15 etc in Iconographer but
when I try to copy the whole icon family into RB's Build Settings dialog,
the paste item is greyed out.

I can get the icl8, icl4, icn# and ics8, ics4 and ics# in using IconPaste
but it doesn't work for the others.

What is the best way to get the 128 x 128 and 48 x 48 icons into my project
to work in OSX and WinXP?

TIA

Joe

I don't know what Iconographer is doing with the clipboard, but RB expects
an 'icns' resource there and apparently isn't getting one. You could try
my Icon Brush application, which is able to paste any icon into the RB
build dialog.

I tried IconBrush 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 and both of them crash with a type 3 error
on clicking the 'Not Yet' button, there is no Readme file and I can't access
the help system.

I already have IconFactory and Iconographer.

Oh, you're under classic. Icon Brush really only works under OS X.

I had this same issue. In the end, I used Iconographer's "Save into File"
menu item to save the entire icon family into the final built app. One
issue with this is getting your Windows icons. You still need to use RB's
IconPaste tool to make this work. The only tool I found that properly
populates the clipboard with the needed goods is ResEdit. It is old, but
can be found on CNET.COM and runs fine under classic.

So, to wrap up. Make your icon family with Iconographer. From this file,
open with ResEdit and copy and past to RB's IconPaste tool which can then
used to paste the goods into your RB Project Settings. This gets you the
Windows icons. The last step is to use Iconographer to Save Into File the
complete (OSX and OS9) family. This last step gets the higher res OSX style
icons into your final built app. If IconPaste were updated to handle these,
then this step could be avoided.
