'Maximize' widget under Win32 does not pay attention to maxWidth, maxHeight?

This is probably just wrong to start out with, but:

I wanted to get the 'minimize' and 'close (X)' widgets under Win32, so I
could send my app down to the taskbar. I found that I could trigger the
appearance of these by ticking the 'ZoomIcon' checkbox of the Window's
Properties. Then, I set maxWidth = inWidth =iidth, and maxHeight =minHeight =
eight.

This kludge works -- well, does what I want it to -- under Mac OS . . . that
is, if the user clicks the Zoom box, nothing happens. Kind of inelegant, but
I can live with it.

However, it appears that under Win32, the Maximize function does not pay
attention to maxWidth or maxHeight -- if you click the Maximize widget, the
Window zooms to full screen.

So I guess my question is: How can I get the Minimize and Close widgets
under Win32, without the (IMHO) stupid functionality of the Maximize widget.
Or, "how can I disable the Maximize widget under Win32 without disabling the
Minimize & Close widgets."

I did see a previous questioner ask a similar question, in
http://realbasic.zapkerpow.com/nug/2001/06/msg01773.html, but did not see a
response. Hope this is not *too* wacky!

Notes/stats: my Win32 app is SDI, I'm using RB 3.5.2 (finally picked up RB
4.0 but haven't had time to give that a whirl yet).

Thanks . . .

Josh

I'm also finding this (bug?) to be a very bad interface behavior.
