Is there a free plugin, class, shared library, ... available for unzipping

Thanks in advance,

I've tried this, but it doesn't seem to work for me.
I'm trying to add the ability to play zipped MODs to my player, so the users
don't have to unzip those MODs. Zipped MODs are common and have an extesion
like .mod, .it, ... instead of .zip.
