About RB SQL support
Date: 28.08.02 09:04 (Wed, 28 Aug 2002 10:04:42 +0200)
From: Andrea Mariottini
I have some question about SQL support in RB:
* is the ³having² clause supported? (select ...... from .... where ....
group by ... having ....)
* is possible to have nested selects? (select ... from .... where <field> in
(select....))
* is the union clause supported? (select * from table1 union select * from
table2)
* is the ³distinct² clause supported? (select distinct ...... from ......)

In general where can I find a complete list of supported SQL clauses?
The Developers Guide and the Language Reference lack of this and if I
have to refer only at them then I have to reply NO to all my questions.....

Thanks.

To what database do you want to apply all these questions? In most
cases the SQL is just passed right on to the database, so you should
ask: does OpenBase support "having"? Or, does mySQL support
"having"? Or whatever other database you intend to use.

If you mean the built-in REAL Database, then the complete list of SQL
directives supported is listed in the language reference under
"SQLSelect and SQLExecute".

I mean built-in Real database.

If built-in SQL is limited to what is in language reference then it is very
lack.....

I believe the answer to each of these, as it applies to the built in
database, is NO

File a feature request PLEASE

I've been asking for this sort of thing since the first pro releases
and the more voices there are the more likely it will happen
