getting sound level

Hello,
I'd like to add to a MoviePlayer-app the ability to get the sound level
and set it through the keyboards arrows.

Is there a way? and if it is not possible, how to get the system-sound
level (volume) and set it? It seems to me that the Sound controlPanel is
nor scriptable. I guess I need a declare, but I'm not strong in making
declares...

any help appreciated, thanks

carlo

Hi Carlo,

If you have RB 4.5, the MoviePlayer control now has a volume property, so
you can get and set the level in code. This does not effect the System's
overall volume, but the movie's volume relative to that system volume. If
you need to set the system volume, there are plugins and declare code to do
so. Sorry I don't have the links for them at the moment.

Take care,

Ben

Hi Carlo,

Ok, then you could download my QTAudioPlayer class from...
http://oak.cats.ohiou.edu/~schneidb/realbasic/
and it'll allow you to get and set the volume.

Take care,

Ben
