G'day All

My alter-ego, el Bandido, is pleased to announce myBootX 1.0.

myBootX is "nortiware", it creates a modified version of the Mac OS X
10.2 BootX file with the grey Apple logo replaced with an image of the
user's choice. myBootX does NOT modify your System because it is left
to the user to move the modified BootX file into place. Aside from
simply personalising your Mac myBootX can be used to put a company logo
in the BootX file on workplace macs or to insert owner information on
portable Macs. The latter is a useful security consideration now that
there's no equivalent of the PowerBook Security control panel. It won't
stop your PowerBook [or iBook] getting stolen but it could help an
honest person or the police return it to you.

myBootX can be downloaded from
<http://www.pedro.net.au/realbasic/index.html>
or from <http://www.pedro.net.au/files/myBootX10.dmg> without visiting
the page.

Cheers, Pedro :-)

Fixed now ... getting all muddled up by having a couple of housepests
demanding my attention I put the app as compiled on the disk image
rather than one bundled with a couple of essential files.

Great sounding software, but surely the the PB Security panel is pretty
much the same as log in with the automatically log in option switched
off?

It's more like myBootX is the equivalent of startupscreen which no
longer exists...
