BitJuggler Software announces the release of App Bundler 1.0b2!

near Cleveland, OH -- 2/28/2004 -- BitJuggler Software has released
version 1.0b2 of its popular App Bundler developer tool. App Bundler
can be downloaded from:

<http://www.bitjuggler.com/products/appbundler/>

App Bundler is an application designed to create OS X bundles (and
optionally OS 9 packages) from an unbundled Carbon and/or Classic
application.

App Bundler was primarily designed for bundling REALbasic
applications. However, it should work on any application that
includes the appropriate data.

App Bundler is freeware and open-source. Distribution and
modification notes are available in the Read Me file included with
the App Bundler distribution.

App Bundler will only run on MacOS X, though it will build packages
that will run on OS 9. Due to some bugs in previous versions of OS X
that can affect App Bundler, I recommend that you run it on OS X 10.2.

App Bundler was compiled in REALbasic 5.2.4, and relies on some
features that were not present in earlier versions of REALbasic. If
you want to compile App Bundler in RB 4.5 or earlier, you will need
to make significant changes to the code.

The following changes have been made since the last release:

* Known Issue: the Open Recent menu isn't friendly to volumes that
might not be present any longer. When building the menu (which happens
when App Bundler opens, among other times), if a volume that a
previously-opened file was on cannot be found, the OS will prompt you
to log on to or insert that volume. I intend to fix this, I just haven't had
time to work it all out yet!

* Fixed a bug that caused document icons to not be displayed properly.

* The About window no longer appears tiled from the frontmost document
window.

* The icons.rsrc file is now included in the source distribution.

* The help tag for the Bundle ID field now contains appropriate text.

* When closing a modified document, no longer prompts for a file if the
file isn't a new, untitled document.

* Removing an item from the list on the Other Files tab now properly
sets the document's modified state.

* Fixed a bug that could cause App Bundler to fail to save, due to
failing to clean up temporary files properly.

* Fixed a bug that could cause App Bundler to fail to save, due to the
document being on a volume other than the boot volume.

Thomas,

Will OS X 10.3.2 work?

Terry

Sure, OS X 10.3.2 works very well for me.

Oh, wait, you meant "Does App Bundler work on 10.3.2?", didn't you?
;-) Yes, it works just fine in my tests.
