I just read that postgreSQL version 8.0 is out. This is the first version to offer native windows compatiblity. Question: is the existing plugin for PostgreSQL compatible with this new version? Has anyone tried it yet? I'll be installing 8.0 and testing this week, but wanted to know if anyone else out there had already given it a go.

For a little bit more verbosity...

I've tried both the PostgreSQL plugin and pgSQL4RB. pgSQL4RB is a
native RB-based solution that you can purchase for a nominal fee for
commercial use; it's an encrypted project item, though, not open
source.

The PostgreSQL plugin worked with PostgreSQL 8.0 beta when I tried it.
However, the PostgreSQL plugin is not multi-threaded, so every query
and connection you issue locks up the GUI. I've had much more luck with
pgSQL4RB, which has an API that is quite obtuse but works much better
asynchronously--and it supports native PostgreSQL-only features better.
