[OT] Google programming contents with $$ to win

For those who have some spare time:

http://www.topcoder.com/pl/?&module=Static&d1=google05&d2=overview

Need to code in C#, VB, Java or C++

Big prices to win - but probably too many other coders around ;-)

I hope you meant "Prizes". :)

Won't be me because it's out of my knowledge area. Wish you luck.

Terry

No RB, no Python :-(

I wonder whether
#ifdef __cplusplus
extern "C" {
#endif

<insert here C code>

#ifdef __cplusplus
}; /* end of extern "C" */
#endif

would be considered as valid C++ code :-)

Sorry, no EN speaker. Even never been in USA or such.

I meant cash, up to 10.000 $$.

I think they needed a command line system, since the IDE
is run through a java applet.

Really nice: You edit, compile and run through the java applet.
Therefore, they needed something to pipe code in and get results back.

Did I said, that I really like tool, which might be used through
the command line?

Well, python would be ok.

Ah, I strongly believe, that Google is in heavy search for
talented coders. So if anyone is really good, he should probably
join.

This is OT, but-- I think Python would be too easy. It would give
coders an edge over the Java/C++/C# people.

Yuck, maybe, but after dabbling with their coding arena [very well
made], I solved problem 1 [500 points] in 15 minutes in VB [and I
haven't written an Excel VB Script in more than a year]. That's the
closest thing to RB we're going to get in this contest, and in a way
it was kind of amusing to solve it in a relatively unknown language.

I have used so far ONE Imports, I think it was System, to get access
to Console.Write :-)

Really, if you have idle time, give it a go, it's kind of funny to use
one's knowledge of a language [RB] and program in another [with some
help from msdn for the correct syntax]...
