Reload HTMLViewer control
Date: 18.08.05 17:16 (Thu, 18 Aug 2005 09:16:14 -0700 (PDT))
From: RB Geek
I am working on altering a project that used the
Monkeybread WebkitMBS control to use an HTMLViewer
control (in order to accommodate links that target a
new window, which I can't make work in WebkitMBS).
Unfortunately, I am having trouble making the
HTMLViewer control redraw correctly. I had a similar
problem with the Monkeybread control, but calling its
Reload() method seemed to resolve the problem. Is
there any simple way to prompt the HTMLViewer to
reload a page or to get the URL being displayed so I
can load it again? I could add a variable to track
the URL myself, but I'm curious if I have overlooked
an easier way (and, probably due to poor design on my
part, this option is proving trickier than I would
have thought).

Thanks for any insights.

Jon

I have an similar problem with linked external css files...

'load again' and 'reload' is not the same, 'load again' seems to load
from an
cache, and I have to close my application for the changes in the css
file should
take affect, using RB HTML Viewer...

So to fix this, you have to use the MBS stuff.
RB HTML viewer looks not have the function 'reload'

Thanks for the reply, Sven. I was a little afraid of
the cache problem you mentioned. Unfortunately, I
have yet to figure out how to determine when a user
has clicked on a link that should open in a new window
when I am using the Monkeybread control, so I'm in
trouble either way I turn. I guess I will submit a
feature request for a Reload method in HTMLViewer and
continue looking for a solution with the Mokeybread
control and see which comes first...

Jon

P.S. - You can sign on to this feature request if
you're interested.
