Determining the Menu selection on a BevelButton

Hi Folks,

I've exhausted the OLR, the User's Guide, included examples, and even
autocomplete and can't figure out how to act on a user's menu
selection in a bevelbutton.

Any examples floating around out there?

Thanks,
Tim

Ah, so it is "minimally" in the User's Guide - MenuValue. But, it
doesn't autocomplete unless you use the Me or controlname: i.e.:
Me.MenuValue or bbAddPath.MenuValue.

It's working...

Tim

Well, the Action event gest executed when the user chooses a menu item.
Then, use the MenuValue property to discover which one is the selected
one.

(BTW: it took 10 minutes to bring RB to the front with the coloured
ball mouse cursor (seems to eat so much Virtual Memory) to check this
for you. RB is quite unusable when it sits one day or more in the
background)

Put a bevel button on a window
set HasMenu to "2 - Menu on Right"
Put this code in the respective events

Event Open()
me.AddRow "1"
me.AddRow "2"
me.AddRow "3"
me.AddRow "4"
me.AddRow "5"
me.AddRow "6"

End Event

Event Action()
me.Caption = me.List(me.MenuValue)
End Event

It's the same thing for any control. Put a push button in your window
and write cap (for "caption") and you won't have it in the
autocomplete list.
This is because the autocomplete list shows properties/methods/etc for
global items and current class (i.e. what your code editor window
represent).
