Hi all,

Again, please forgive me fore being naive.. but I've looked at the
reports feature, and all i see is nothing much really... just a way to
add some text and ovas/circles on a head/body/footer

I looked up reports in the User Guide and there's nothing... No
information on it at all (using spotlight, the best result is
"Profiling your project")
I've also looked up reports in the language reference and that just
gives a bunch of language feature stuff, not the "Reports" Feature
itself

So what exactly is the reports feature? And what is it suppose to do?

Anyway, thanks in advance for any insight.

Regards,

Eric Hoaglin

Ah ok,

Well I saw that people were talking about it a few days ago, and was
very curious.

Thanks for clearing it up.

Regards,

Eric

The Reporting feature has been announced but no other information has
been given.

It hasn't been released yet.

That said, 2009r3 shipped with a very alpha (or portions of a very
alpha) release of the report feature by mistake. That's why it's not
finished and not documented.

All Real has said is that the feature will be released "later this
year."

I am using Valentina Reports for REALbasic - http://valentina-db.com/index.php/en/products/valentina-reports

This is the best reports system for REALbasic. It works only with Valentina DB, but on the other hand, its also available for use with Valentina Server. Our apps have reports built right in, but also we have a server that generates PDF reports too. You make your report layouts in Valentina Studio Pro and associate those with SQL calls. I couldn't be happier!

cheers!

Sid
