Web edition, e-commerce & certificates

Hello,

has anyone tried to make a e-commerce website with Web edition?

I know this is not intended for that, but I did a little quick test (for my own needs), and it seems possible, using HtmlViewer for product descriptions, etc.. And using RB especially for the account customer, purchasing, stocks & licences, and order tracking.

But web edition is compatible with the SSL certificates? Thawte like?
Has anyone been able to connect to the API banks for payment by credit card?

Thank you !

olivier

thank you !

the display seems to me quite slow right? (mac and windows, safari and internet explorer)
This is due to RB?

But I intended to use the web edition in standalone version, so the RB web server. That's why I wonder if it's compatible.

But you use paypal for payments by credit card? In France, Paypal is very expensive compared to the direct banking (a French bank bills 0.10% or 0.15% fee instead of 1% for paypal).

Can you give me a link or name of the French Bank that only charges 0.10-0.15% transaction fees? Are you sure these fees are for online transactions and not in store transactions? Also, did you
get a list of the other fees and minimum transaction requirements that they have?

Cheers,
Jared

Our website QuickStartSoftware.com uses Real Studio Web Edition to sell our PayPal and Credit Card processing plugins.

You need to setup the SSL certificate on your web server (nothing to set in RSWE) and then make sure any attempt to connect to the store is redirected to https.

Our plugins will allow you to process PayPal and Credit Card payments all with pure RealBasic code. The payment processing works with Web Edition and the regular Desktop Edition.
