Escaped or non-escaped path in a dragitem?
Date: 30.09.11 00:18 (Thu, 29 Sep 2011 16:18:01 -0700)
From: Michael Diehr
On OS X, is there a standard for what to put in dragItem.text variable when dragging a folderItem?

Should one put the shellPath, non-escaped shellPath, or perhaps URL path?

This is mostly a convenience if a person, say, drags a file into a text editor or program that ignores the file itself...

In the Developer tools, that you can install from your Mac OS X's
installation discs.

The standard seems to be a non-escaped Shell path. Try dragging a file from the Finder into the AppleScript Editor.

If you peek with drag peeker you can see what the OS does when you
drag files & folder around
Frequently there is an URL path
