Hello,

I would like to draw the outline of a rectangle in a window as I drag the mouse but at mouse-up I want that rectangle to disappear.

How can I do that?

Thanks.

Lennox.

mouseDown: save XY coords
mouseDrag: Group2D, rectShape to draw the rect to the Canvas
mouseUp: remove the Group2D and refresh the canvas pic with the original pic

Hi Peter,
I do not have a canvas, this is for selecting an area from a window, I am trying to do a "screen capture" for a window.
Would you like to see the project?
Thanks.
Lennox

I think that anything that will work in the paint event of a canvas
should also work in the paint event of a window.

I have a project that does exactly what it is that I think you are
trying to do. The method is fairly involved, (the draw rect part is not
complicated) but if you don't get a simple answer that works for you, I
could send it to you.
