Thanks,

Yes, it is a Cocoa thing: you have to add the Drop code to get it into the TextArea (not the other way Jon).

This is not true with Xojo. You can easily drag and drop into a textField. No additional code needed.

I'm betting it is more Cocoa vs Carbon. I bet a Xojo project compiled to Carbon would need the additional code.

Well, let's find out?

Hi,

I wrote earlier (below) and I was a bit wrong !

I am right for TextFields and Wrong for TextAreas.

And I have on the main window:

one TextArea (to hold large text)
five TextFields (to hold a bunch of text, far lower than 50 characters)

I dynamically load the contents for four TextFields, but I have to manually fill one TextField. The TextArea gets the computation results (a large or larger html file).

In short:
TextArea have drag and drop 'built in';
TextField does not have, but you can add it to them if needed.

Regards,

Emile

This is not true with Xojo. You can easily drag and drop into a textField. No additional code needed.

Jon,

did you checked ?
Start checking and give answers !

YOU NEED TO ADD THE DROP CODE IF YOU COMPILE WITH XOJO FOR COCOA.

Emile

ps: I just checked that I compiled to Cocoa (with XOJO 13r2)
