Hi RS.

Out of curiousity, where is the encoding stored? Not that I want
to get at it directly.

All I want to know is really:

How much more RAM will it take up to store an encoding on a string?

Does it waste RAM to call REALSetStringEncoding ?

Is the encoding stored on the string (at the end I'd guess), meaning
that we don't use up much more RAM? Or on the end of the string
struct? Also meaning we don't use up much more RAM?

Those, or other solutions which mean the minimum of RAM taken up
are fine.

I hope you aren't building up an encoding string lookup table
somewhere! Thats all.

The size of a TextEncoding (4 bytes) per string data (note: NOT per
string reference).

Nope. All it does is change the number already there.

Glad you approve.
