Time-critical windows compilation problem

This is a serious problem. I need gzip support and I need it for
Windows. MBS plugin's gzip support appears to be completely broken and
the Gzip plugin Norman Palardy and I made only supports Mac. And I need
this by tomorrow.

I've spent a few hours trying to get the Gzip source to compile for
Windows. The problem here is I have to use CW 9 for Windows compilation
and it's not working. After separating the zlib code out into its own
project that compiles a static library and a *lot* of hacking on the
rest, I finally got it to compile. But the dll_to_resource post-linker
crashes CW and the standalone version is Classic-only. I wrote up a
quick RB app that moved the DLL into a resource and another one to
merge my resources (since I can't use CW's Merge when it doesn't know
about the Windows resource file). I tried that. Since I don't have a
Windows machine I sent it to Norman to test, along with a test app
compiled for Windows. He tried the test app and apparently it's not
working:

"The app cannot continue because a needed file cannot be installed and
you dont have privileges to install it"

And he's an Administrator, so it should work. So basically, it took a
lot of hacking to compile for Windows, and even when it did compiled
apps still won't *run* on Windows.

Can anybody either tell me how to fix my problems or make their own
version that compiles on Windows? The source is at
http://members.shaw.ca/palardyn/

Thanks,
Kevin Ballard

OK.
I'll post the fixed up project for CW 8 later .... with a Windows
target as well

If you want gzip streams...

Well, the plugin compiles here and I hope to have an example finished
later this evening...

You could use Einhugur's eCrypt-It gzip - I use that in my Zip
package, and contrary to the MBS one, it works.

Have you tried my latest version from my website?

Some said it works, other not. But it might be worth a try:
