OK, this turned out to be a problem with the Plugin Converter. How, you
ask? Well, I read here or in the docs that the plugin converter could
handle shared libraries rather than code resources. Turns out to be
true for Carbon and Win32 (thus banishing the RBDLL postlinker to my
trash can), but not quite true for Classic. Additionally, if you have
Classic code resource in your plugin folder hierarchy, you have to have
Carbon code resource (not shared library). Or maybe it was the xSYM
files that were confusing the plugin converter. Who knows? But I will
probably dedicate a day to fixing the plugin converter to better suit
my use sometime soon.

Anyway, sorry to raise false alarms. Please resume your regularly
scheduled plugin development.

-Brad
