Sorry, but I can't reproduce it as I can't get my plugins being loaded.
When I choose a new console project and I start typing, auto complete
does not know my plugin classes!?

Are you extending a class that isn't available to a console app? For
example, isn't picture excluded from console apps for now?

I get the same crash with my plugins in console apps, just a simple
plugin that defines Rect and Point data type generates it.

Do you have a bug report that I can sign onto ?

Ok.

No.

It seems to be a very basic problem as not even the shell class is
available in a console project here in RB 5.5.2!?

Are you sure it's not just autocomplete that's fooling you into believing
this? It's true that Shell doesn't autocomplete, and that may be a bug, but
I can still use it, and it compiles fine for me.

Maybe the shell is not a Mach-O plugin ??? The one I tried is a Mach-O
plugin.

Right, the shell is not a Mach-O plugin... So it's using the carbon target.
Probably not what you want in your case.
