Dear all ,

I don't update my plugins since a long time ago. Last time i use classic

Now my system is OSX 10.3.5

When i try to launch debugger for debuging my plugins i get now the message
'can't read symbolics for this target'

I don't remeber what i have to do.

Does anybody can help me ?

Best regards

This has been a sore topic... Plugin debugging has not been solved (unbelievably) for CW or XCode. Though I have not heard 100% confirmation that CW 9.2 can or cannot debug plugins, I know it is a spotty proposition at best. XCode shows promise, but dictates you build Mach-O RB binaries (v5.5.x+) and Mach-O plugins. James Milne reported some early successes in getting XCode to hit breakpoints and such, but had not yet solved the full-source-level-debugging issue, nor has RealSoftware so far as I can tell from newsgroups and such.

We've always been able to debug plugins; but we're still using CW 8.
That might be the critical difference.

Best,

Perhaps its just the air in these here parts, but I have had little
problem debugging with CW 9.x on OS X. When I get back to the office
next Monday, I will compare my steps to those that have been posted here
before to see if I can outline anything that will help any of the CW
people who are having troubles perhaps make some progress.

Then how come the directions anyone (including RB's "how to debug plugins") does not work? Many-oh-so-many have posted about this and we would all be flamed vigorously if it were only one or two of us... I have CW 8.3 now, and ever since 1) OS X and 2) RB's debug app arrangement, plugin debugging has been nil. I have indeed gotten it to jump into the CW debugger, but it is not at the correct time, you can't step code, and breakpoints don't work. Since this is apparently not the case at the RealSoftware bunker, would it be much to ask for a rapid rundown of the "official" method for configuring CW to debug properly? Clearly pointing at RB anymore is not useful, and when trying to follow Ruslan's directions (google it from the RB groups) to try merging the plugin into a built app, etc, that doesn't work either (though he 100% defends that it does, I have not been able to reproduce his assertions).

Personally this is my environment:

Mac OS 10.3.6
CW 8.3
RB 5.2.4 and 5.5.4

I've tried pretty much everything and have completely halted progress on a major development project until this is resolved. I know nothing new, so as I stated before, myself and others deem plugin debugging dysfunctional. Anything you could put forth from the RS side of things to correct this belief would be more appreciated than you know!
