RB 2005 won't compile projects using my plugins

RB 2005 won't compile any project as long as one of my plug-ins is in the
Plugins folder.

When compiling I get this or similar error:

Message: This name is already in use.

File: ScanPlug

Component: _Globals17

Item: spCreateScanner

It is almost as RB is loading my plug-in twice.

I am testing this on Tiger using RB 2005 and my plug-in is the only one in
the Plugins folder. I am trying to build a default Desktop Application
project that doesn't use the plug-in.

Initially the plug-in was the old format but I also tested using a new
format plug-in created RB Plugin Converter application and that didn't make
a difference. The plug-ins are compiled for Classic, Carbon and Win32.

All of my plug-ins work fine with RB 5.5.5.

Has anyone else seen this?

Chris

I found my problem. I had some global methods that had the same parameter
names in the string used in the REALmethodDefinition structure. Making the
parameter names unique fixed my build problem.

Good catch! Yes, parameter names used to be ignored when loading
plugins, but now they're converted into actual REALbasic code that
must compile. So they have to be legal in the same way as in any
REALbasic method.
