[MBS] QT preserve pitch items

Hi,

A couple of questions about using the preserve pitch flag on QT7:

1. Would you consider adding a function similar to
FolderItem.OpenAsMovieWithProperties() that works with URLs? I'm
looking for preserve pitch support, async support isn't as important
to me. (I have source code I can share, although I doubt you'd need
it.)

2. Using the 5.5 demo version of MBS,
FolderItem.OpenAsMovieWithProperties(anything, false) is returning
nil on Windows, where FolderItem.OpenAsMovie() works fine for the
same FolderItem. I have QT 7.0.3 installed. Any ideas?

Two other data points for this problem: first, QuickTime Player runs
fine and can change preserve pitch. Second, my own plugin that calls
NewMovieWithProperties is failing with paramErr, and the parameter
for kQTAudioPropertyID_RateChangesPreservePitch is returning
kQTPropertyNotSupportedErr (-2195). I don't see a way to tell what
errors, if any, the MBS call is producing.

Thanks,

Eric Baumgartner

Yes. Of course. Maybe I can make some class for all the properties as a
single function doesn't handle all the thousand options.

The stuff is not implemented on Windows.

True. It would also be nice, on errors, to get back not only the main
error code, but also the related error codes for each property.

Ok. If that's the case, please update the docs, which say that this
function works on Windows. (FWIW, my interest is in a cross-platform
solution.)
