Christian (or anyone else who can help),

I'm using the QTEffectMovieMBS to create a dissolve between two
pictures. It works great, but it always creates the movie as a Photo-
JPEG. I need the file to be a DV file. How can I change which codec
it uses? I can change the width & height, but couldn't find how to
change the codec/format of the movie.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Actually I wrote this class to make those movie files as small as
possible. They contain only the images and a few instructions for
QuickTime on how to play them back. Those transition frames are not
rendered.

So you can use the QTMovieExporterMBS class to convert hat movie and
QuickTime will render the files. With a much bigger size.

I finally figured that out. It's nice it does that, I just didn't
realize that was the case.

I tried that, but although the original plays fine in Quicktime
Player, when I use the Exporter and convert it to a DV file, it
doesn't have the dissolve in there properly. It's like the converter
isn't rendering the effect properly when converted.

Is there another way of doing a dissolve between two pictures and
saving as a Quicktime movie (DV file actually)?

Well, seems like that information is lost when you export.

You can of course use one of the other classes to render the frames
yourself and make a picture movie which actually has each frame
rendered.

Also you can test whether movie.MoviePictureMBS() return the frame
corectly rendered for a movie made with QTEffectMovieMBS.
