[MBS] DarwinList, RendezVous and console problems

Hello,

I have a small problem: I'd like to make an application that sends
the name of some users over a network. To discover the computers, I
use the DNSServiceLookup and DNSServiceRegister classes. It uses the
DarwinUserList to grab the users name.
If I make both applications as "Desktop Application", all works
fine, but the application that sends the names must be running as a
service (runs since before the login window or whichever user is
logged in). The problem is that neither the DarwinUserName, the
DNSServiceLookup or the DNSServiceRegister work in a console
application (the compiler says "this method or property does not
exist" or "invalid class name").

Another way I'm thinking of: make a small console application just
for launching a desktop application. The console application is
launched before the login window. It then launches the desktop
application (a background only app, obviously launched as root and in
the same manner as a console application) and then quits. But this
makes 2 executable files just for one.

Any advice or hint?

In such a case send me please the list of what you need to be console
safe, so I can change it.
