What happens if you dowmload this URl with a httpsocket?

Maybe it's as simple as a text file with some URL you pass to OpenURLMovie?

The example I gave was just a random streaming internet radio server. Other streams I tested also worked in QT, but did not work in RS.

Although there are many ways to set up streaming audio servers, QT is able to connect to all of them, so the better question to ask, what I should have asked, is whether or not that part of QT is available in RS. The broader question is simply how to connect to streaming servers from RS. There is plenty of info online on how to set up a streaming server, and basically none about how to create the client. Having looked into the server side, it looks messy from the client side. This is why I was asking about MBS + QT support. QT can already do it, so if I can have access to that, I won't need to reinvent the wheel. If there is no "plugin" way, it will be a long project just to get started.

Thanks,
Aaron

[MBS] quicktime audio stream URL doesn't load
Date: 02.04.11 22:00 (Sat, 2 Apr 2011 17:00:20 -0400)
From: Aaron Andrew Hunt
In Quicktime Player 10, I can go to File > Open URL, and type in something like http://64.32.16.179:2008 , a streaming radio station loads. If I try this with quicktime movie in RB, it doesn't work:

m.Movie = OpenMovieURLMBS("http://64.32.16.179:2008", 256)

doesn't work.

m.movie = openURLMovieMBS("http://64.32.16.179:2008")

also doesn't work.

Before asking here I have tried various things for a couple of hours with no success. Any help?

Thanks,
Aaron

Are you sure the URL does not miss a file name/path?

Greetings

For streams there is generally no "file name". Except in he case of some steams, but that depends on implementation of the stream server.

The question is what server is he using, just because QT can playback the stream doesn't mean the implementation of the QT plugin or rb can play it.

What server are you using?
